John and Kari's Wedding at Chateau Selah, Blountville Tennessee
I am so excited to share this peek into John and Kari's amazing and fun wedding day! I think it was the stormiest day of the year and it rained so hard, but this couple made the most of it and literally danced in the rain! The weather didn't phase them and their wedding photos are so unique and beautiful!
I love getting to know my clients and I especially love hearing all about their unique love stories. John and Kari have a beautiful life long love story and you can read all about it below!
"So our love story is probably one of the best ones (I think anyways) lol. So here goes....We knew each other and were childhood friends 25 years ago. I’m 30 now and he’s 36. We lived in the neighborhood and always played together. When I moved out of the neighborhood, we never really talked anymore but he cried when I left and so did I. We obviously didn’t know what love was at that age but we did really like each other. His cousin was best friends with my step dad so he was around all the time and I would always ask about him but no one would ever tell me. Maybe jealously, idk but anyways the next time we saw each other he came over and took me to get my Junior prom dress. I was so happy to see him and ride with him. We held hands and everything but he was 5 years older than me so he was scared to do anything. After that, life happened I guess. He thought I didn’t like him and I thought he didn’t like me so we we never saw each other again. Well I moved to SC and now I’m back because I came here a few months ago and he saw I was in town and messaged me on FB and said I better not go back home without seeing him since it had been so long. I never thought that when I was going to see him, I was going to fall in love right that second lol. He brought me some coffee from dunkin and as soon as I opened the door. He turned around and smiled and just said “My Kari” My heart dropped to my stomach!!! I seriously thought I was about to pass out with excitement to see my old long lost friend/crush. You know how they say “Cupid” shoots you in the butt with an arrow lol. Well that’s what it felt like. I immediately fell in love with him. And apparently so did he lol. We both couldn’t stop smiling at each other as we sat there for 6 hours just talking and catching up.
Another thing about this guy that no other guy can do for me, is tell me stories about my mom. See, my mom passed away when I was 10 and my dad passed away when I was 13. His aunt was one of my moms best friends and his whole family has stories they can tell me about her as well. He even had stuff to tell me and it’s just amazing!!!
So we have FINALLY been together for 9 months and he proposed to me at my cousins Christmas sweater party. He was slick about it too lol. He said he kept the ring in his pocket for a days before he finally did it because he honestly wasn’t sure how and when he was going to. We went to that party and this is the first time he met my friends and cousin. Well while I was inside and went outside to socialize (or so I thought) lol. He was actually setting it all up. Showed everyone the ring and said he’s gonna do it and when he’s about to, for everyone to have their phones up recording lol. Well I was actually getting a headache so I wanted to leave but I wanted everyone to take pictures together before we did. Little did I know, that pretty much gave him the perfect chance lol. So when it was our turn to take pics in front of the tree. I noticed everyone taking pics. Which was fine but then it was taking forever so I was like alright that’s enough and tried to push him kinda out of the way so they next couple could go... well then he reached in his pocket and got down on his knee lol. My heart started pounding and everything but I was so happy!!!!! It was December 21st when we got engaged. We have a little video of it. So yeah.... that’s basically our story and I love every bit of it." -Kari
